SPICE M-7070 – A Feature-Packed Phone for the Budget-Conscious User

The Spice M7070 dual SIM GSMbased phone packs quite a punch in terms of features, especially with its 5 megapixel camera. It’s quite light, features a good sized 240×320 pixel screen, and the keypad works well with the overall design. The UI is easy to use, but navigation can take long. The audio player shortcut lets you access your music at the push of a button. FM radio reception is somewhat fuzzy indoors, but is fairly consistent for most part and also off ers a record option.

The phone supports standard MPEG4 and 3GP video, and while there was framing, it’s still a lot better than other devices in its class. The phone is quite basic on the connectivity front. It features Bluetooth and EDGE/GPRS, but no Wi-Fi. It includes the Opera Mobile web browser, which is really good, and some good Java-based applications.

The M-7070 also supports POP and IMAP email accounts. This is one of the only phones at this price point to feature a 5 megapixel camera. It’s a tad slow, but image quality is great and it can record video at 30 fps as well. This phone ships with two batteries, and each will last you a good day and a half during standard usage, with around 2.5 hours of talk time. In many ways, the M-7070 is a standard phone, but Spice has done a good job with the camera and additional features, making this a really good option for the budget-conscious user.
